OET TRAINING
OET or more commonly referred to as the Occupational English Test is an exclusive English language test that has been designed for health care professionals. Since 2013, the OET exam has been conducted by CBLA or Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment which is a venture between Cambridge English and Boxhill Institute.
TIPS FOR OET SPEAKING TEST EXAM
- Play your Role. In the speaking sessions, there is an interlocutor who might be playing the role of a patient or any other client
- Breaking the ice.
- Keep the Conversation On
- Understand the patient/client (the interlocut)
- Upgrade your language.
- Be ready for unexpected turns.
OET EXAM SYLLABUS
- OET Listening (approx. 45 mins) -To know if candidate can follow and understand
- A range of health-related spoken materials such as patient consultations and lectures
- OET Reading (60 mins) -To understand if student can read and understand different types of text on health-related subjects.
- OET Writing (45 mins)-To write a letter in a clear and accurate way which is relevant for the reader
- OET Speaking (approx. 20 mins)-To effectively communicate in a real-life context through the use of role-plays
